AMI400L2A is a 710kW, 2-pole, three-phase medium voltage modular
induction motor engineered for high reliability and availability in the
most demanding industrial applications, including pumps, blowers, and
fans. Built on a proven modular platform, this motor is tailored to meet
specific customer and application requirements, offering the
flexibility to adapt to highly specialized configurations while
maintaining compliance with all relevant international standards. It
supports both direct-on-line (DOL) and variable speed drive (VSD)
operation, ensuring compatibility with diverse control systems.
Featuring
a welded steel frame, the AMI400L2A is available in standard shaft
heights ranging from 400 to 630 mm and can be mounted either
horizontally or vertically. While catalog data is presented for 50 Hz,
the motor is fully operational at both 50 Hz and 60 Hz, with synchronous
speeds spanning 500 to 3600 rpm. The AMI series covers output powers up
to 8,000 kW in standard catalogs, with the complete product range
extending to 23,000 kW, making it suitable for a broad spectrum of
high-power industrial duties.
2. Mounting Arrangements
The
AMI400L2A supports standard mounting configurations to accommodate
diverse installation environments. Custom mounting arrangements are
available upon request to meet specific spatial or mechanical
integration requirements.

3. Enclosure and Cooling
The
AMI400L2A offers multiple enclosure and cooling configurations, each
designed to balance thermal performance with environmental protection
for pump, blower, and fan applications.

IC01 / IP24W: This weather-protected motor features a shaft-mounted
cooling fan inside the housing. The air intake path is engineered to
limit average velocity to 3 m/s, allowing heavier particles to settle,
and includes three acute direction changes exceeding 90 degrees to
further reduce flow rate and ingress of rain, snow, and airborne
particles. The motor is protected against splashing water from any
direction.
- IC611 / IP55:
A fully enclosed design with an air-to-air heat exchanger mounted on
the motor. Shaft-mounted fans are fitted both inside and outside the
casing to supply separate internal and external cooling circuits. This
configuration provides full protection against dust and splashing water
from any direction, ideal for dusty or humid environments.

IC81W / IP55: This fully enclosed motor is equipped with an
air-to-water heat exchanger. A shaft-mounted fan inside the casing
supplies the internal cooling circuit, while water circulates through
the heat exchanger to dissipate heat. It offers complete protection
against dust and splashing water from any direction, suitable for
high-ambient-temperature or space-constrained installations.

IC31 / IP55: This version is fitted with inlet and outlet pipes for
remote cooling air, essentially comprising the AMI motor frame without
an upper cover. It provides full protection against dust and splashing
water from any direction, ideal for applications where external forced
air cooling is available.

IC01 (Asymmetric): A variant of the IC01 design featuring asymmetric
internal air circulation to optimize cooling distribution for specific
load profiles.
4. Packaging
The
AMI400L2A is supplied in standard seaworthy packaging suitable for
long-distance transportation by sea or land. Packaging options include
plywood cases or wooden fumigation packages, ensuring the motor arrives
at the installation site in pristine condition, protected from moisture,
vibration, and mechanical damage during transit.
5. Warranty Period
The
standard warranty for the AMI400L2A is 12 months after commissioning or
18 months after delivery, whichever occurs first. Extended warranty
