How to select the ZPLF series planetary reducer to avoid overloading
The core of avoiding overloading of the ZPLF series planetary gearbox is to accurately match the load requirements with the rated parameters of the gearbox, and reserve a safety margin based on the working conditions. The following are specific selection methods and preventive measures:
1. Accurately calculate the load torque
The output torque shall not exceed the allowable torque of the gearbox. Referring to the parameters of the ZPLF series, the allowable torque of ZPLF160 can reach 895Nm.
In practical applications, it is necessary to calculate the maximum working torque required by the device and multiply it by a safety factor of 1.5-2.0 to prevent instantaneous overload.
Instantaneous impact loads (such as starting, braking, and sudden load changes) can easily cause gear breakage or coupling damage, and should be selected based on peak torque.
2. Match the motor with the reduction ratio
Select the appropriate reduction ratio (3~512) based on the input speed of the motor and the required output speed.

High speed ratio can reduce output speed and increase torque, but attention should be paid to the issue of decreased transmission efficiency.
Recommend using servo motors (such as Yaskawa, Panasonic, Delta, etc.) to ensure control accuracy and dynamic response.
3. Control operating conditions to prevent continuous overload
Avoid continuous operation beyond rated load, otherwise it may cause gear pitting, bearing plastic deformation, and high-temperature deterioration of lubricating grease.
Excessive starting and stopping frequency can exacerbate heating and wear. It is recommended to optimize the control logic and reduce frequent starting and stopping.
If there is an impact load on the equipment (such as crane or conveyor belt jamming), a heavy-duty planetary reducer should be selected and an overload protection device should be installed.
4. Pay attention to temperature rise and lubrication status
Overload can cause a sharp increase in the temperature of the gearbox, accelerate the aging of the lubricating oil, and damage the lubrication environment.
Choosing IP65 protection level and lifetime maintenance free models (such as ZPLF series) can improve stability.
Regularly check the degree of oil contamination to prevent metal debris from causing abrasive wear.
5. Installation and alignment accuracy guarantee
Ensure that the motor and reducer are well aligned during installation to avoid additional loads and vibrations caused by shaft eccentricity.
The supporting structure should be stable to prevent foundation looseness from causing resonance and exacerbating component fatigue damage.
