ZLY Double Stage Cylindrical Gear Reducer Selection Guide

To select the ZLY two-stage cylindrical gear reducer, it is necessary to comprehensively consider multiple aspects such as operating parameters, mechanical strength, and thermal balance to ensure that the selected model can meet the requirements of use and be safe and reliable.

1、 Clearly define the operating parameters

Before selecting, you need to prepare and provide the following detailed operating condition information:

Original engine information: name, power (P ₁, kW), speed (n ₁, r/min).

Working machine information: name, power (P ₂, kW), required speed (n ₂, r/min).

Transmission ratio (i): The calculation formula is i=n ₁/n ₂. The nominal transmission ratio range of ZLY series two-stage reducers is usually between 6.3 and 20.

Work system: daily working hours, number of starts per hour, percentage of operating cycles.

Load characteristics: Clearly determine whether the load is stable, has impact, or has severe impact.

Reliability requirements: average, high, or high.

Environmental temperature: The temperature of the operating environment of the device.

2、 Select based on mechanical strength (nominal input power)

This is the core step of selection, ensuring that the mechanical strength of the reducer is sufficient to withstand the working load.

1. Calculate power (Pc):
The calculated power must be less than or equal to the nominal input power (PN) of the gearbox. The calculation formula is as follows:
Pc = P₂ × KA × Ks × KR ≤ PN

P ₂: Working machine power (kW).

KA: Use factor, determined by looking up the table based on the load characteristics (stability, impact, etc.).

Ks: Start factor, determined by looking up the table based on the number of starts per hour.

KR: Reliability coefficient, determined by looking up the table according to reliability requirements.

2. Select specifications:
Based on the calculated Pc value, search for a ZLY gearbox model with a PN value greater than Pc in the "nominal input power meter" of the product sample.

3、 Verify according to thermal balance (allowable thermal power)

The gearbox generates heat during operation, and it is necessary to ensure that its heat dissipation capacity is sufficient to maintain normal oil temperature and avoid malfunctions caused by overheating.

1. Calculate thermal power (Pct):
The calculated thermal power must be less than or equal to the allowable thermal power (Pt) of the gearbox. The calculation formula is as follows:
Pct = P₂ × KT × Kw × Kp ≤ Pt

KT: Environmental temperature coefficient, determined based on the actual environmental temperature by referring to the table (reference environmental temperature is 20 ℃).

Kw: Operating cycle coefficient, determined based on the actual operating cycle by referring to the table (with a benchmark of 100% continuous operation).

Kp: Power utilization coefficient, determined by looking up the table based on the power utilization rate (P ₂/PN × 100%).

2. Verification and cooling:
If the calculated Pct exceeds the Pt of the selected model, auxiliary cooling measures such as installing fans, cooling coils, or using a circulating oil lubrication system need to be considered.
