How to select FG series planetary reducer according to load type
The selection of FG series planetary reducers is based on the load type, with the core being to match the safety factor, rated torque, and peak torque according to the load impact level, and to verify the radial/axial force, backlash, and speed to ensure long-term reliable matching between the model and operating conditions.
1、 Key points for load type classification and selection
1. Constant load (uniform load)
Scenario: Conveyor line, ordinary fan, water pump, mixer (uniform material), continuous operation transmission mechanism.
Load characteristics: stable load, no significant impact, few starts and stops, and long continuous operation time.
Constant load selection rules:
Safety factor: 1.2-1.5.

Torque verification: The rated output torque of the reducer is equal to or greater than the actual load torque multiplied by the safety factor.
Recommended models: FG standard precision (P1 level, backlash ≤ 3 ′), single-stage speed ratio i=3-10, such as FG060, FG090.
2. Medium impact load
Scenario: Packaging machine, sorting machine, intermittent conveyor, ordinary machine tool, automated assembly line.
Load characteristics: frequent start stop, forward and reverse rotation, slight load fluctuations, and moderate instantaneous impact.
Selection rules for moderate impact loads:
Safety factor: 1.5-2.0.
Torque verification: Simultaneously meet the requirements of rated torque ≥ continuous load torque × 1.5 and peak torque ≥ impact torque × 2.0.
Recommended models: FG high rigidity (Z-grade reinforcement), single/double speed ratio i=10-50, such as FG120, FG160.
3. Strong impact/heavy load
Scenario: Stamping machine, crusher, vibrating screen, crane, injection molding machine, robot joint (high-speed dynamic).
Load characteristics: large instantaneous impact, frequent start stop, severe forward and reverse rotation, peak torque can reach 3-5 times the rated value.
Selection rules for strong impact/heavy load:
Safety factor: 2.0-3.0.
Torque verification: Peak torque ≥ ultimate impact torque, rated torque needs to cover long-term fatigue loads.
Recommended model: FG ultra precision/heavy-duty type (PO grade backlash ≤ 1 ′, reinforced gear+tapered roller bearing), dual/three-stage speed ratio i=50-100, such as FG160, FG2000.
2、 FG series core parameter matching (by load)
1. Torque matching (most critical)
Formula: Actual load torque T (N · m)=9550 × P (kW)/n (rpm) × reduction ratio i × efficiency η.
