How to determine the wear of the bearing chamber of BLY39-17-22KW reducer

1、 Online operation status monitoring (no need to disassemble)

During equipment operation, the following signs can be used to preliminarily determine whether there is a risk of wear in the bearing chamber:

Abnormal vibration and noise: Monitor using a vibration analyzer or listening stick. If the vibration velocity value exceeds 2.8mm/s, or if there is a continuous "rustling" sound or abnormal metal friction noise, it usually indicates that there is a problem with the bearing or bearing chamber fit.

Abnormal temperature rise: Use an infrared thermometer to monitor the temperature of the bearing seat. If the temperature rise continues to exceed the ambient temperature by 40 ℃, or is 10-15 ℃ higher than the normal operating temperature, it may be due to loose fit and increased friction caused by bearing chamber wear.

Axial displacement increase: During equipment operation, if the axial displacement of the shaft is significantly increased, it may be due to bearing chamber wear causing axial positioning failure of the bearing.

Abnormal lubricating oil: Regular sampling and analysis of lubricating oil. If there are a large number of sheet-like metal abrasive particles larger than 20 μ m in the oil sample, or if the oil becomes thinner and blackened, it is direct evidence of severe wear on the bearing chamber and outer ring.

2、 Inspection and measurement after shutdown (disassembly required)

When abnormalities are detected during online monitoring, the machine needs to be shut down and disassembled for precise judgment:

Visual and tactile inspection: directly observe the surface of the bearing chamber. The worn area usually has obvious wear marks, grooves, or discoloration. Touching with hands can perceive whether the surface is rough and has a sense of steps.

Measurement of dimensional accuracy: This is the most essential criterion for judgment.

Measurement tool: Use an inside micrometer or a coordinate measuring machine.

Measurement method: Measure the actual inner diameter of the worn area based on the unworn part of the bearing chamber.

Judgment criteria: Compare the measured values with the equipment drawings or original design dimensions. For gearboxes like BLY39, clearance fit is usually used between the bearing chamber and the outer ring of the bearing. If the measured clearance far exceeds the design tolerance (for example, if the fit clearance increases abnormally), it can be judged as wear.

Fitting surface inspection: Check the fitting surface between the outer ring of the bearing and the bearing chamber. If it is found that the outer ring of the bearing can shake inside the seat hole, or the inner ring is loose on the shaft, it indicates that the mating surface has been worn, resulting in a failure of the mating.

3、 Analysis of Wear Causes

Understanding the causes of wear and tear helps to make accurate judgments and prevent it. The wear of the bearing chamber of BLY39 reducer is usually caused by the following factors:

Improper fit clearance: Improper adjustment of the clearance between the bearing chamber and the bearing outer ring during installation can cause the bearing outer ring to rotate relative to the seat hole, resulting in wear.

Installation and processing errors: The gearbox body is a split structure. If the sealing gasket is too thick or the processing accuracy is insufficient during assembly, it will cause coaxiality deviation and excessive fit clearance in the bearing chamber.

Poor lubrication and pollution: Poor cleanliness of lubricating oil, improper oil level, or lubrication failure can exacerbate friction and wear.

Bearing quality issues: Poor quality bearings have large clearance and low precision, which can cause abnormal vibrations during operation and accelerate fatigue wear of the bearing chamber.
