Working Principle & Performance Benefits of NCZD500 1250 1 Planetary Gear Reducer

The NCZD500-1250-1 planetary gear reducer operates on the meshing transmission principle of a planetary gear set. It delivers an extremely high reduction ratio via coordinated interaction among the sun gear, planetary gears and internal ring gear. Its standout performance strengths lie in ultra-high transmission ratio, superior torque capacity and stable operation, making it an ideal choice for heavy-duty, low-speed applications.

1. Working Principle: Single-Stage Planetary Gear Meshing Transmission

This reducer adopts a single-stage planetary transmission configuration. The digit "1" in the model designation stands for one transmission stage. It converts the motor’s high rotational speed into low-speed, high-torque power following the power flow: driving sun gear → planetary gear rotation → planet carrier output. The transmission process is described in three phases:

Power Input: Power received by the sun gear The motor output shaft is rigidly coupled to the reducer’s sun gear. Upon startup, the motor spins the sun gear at high speed (e.g., 1500 r/min). Acting as the driving member, the sun gear meshes and drives 3 to 4 surrounding planetary gears.

Power Transmission: Planetary gears perform both rotation and revolution Each planetary gear engages with the external teeth of the sun gear and the fixed internal teeth of the ring gear, restrained by the ring gear. Besides rotating around its own axis, the planetary gear orbits the central axis of the sun gear, forming a planetary gear train for power transfer.

Power Output: Planet carrier delivers low speed and high torque All planetary gears are mounted on the planet carrier via bearings. The orbital movement of planetary gears drives the planet carrier to rotate at low speed. The planet carrier connects to the reducer output shaft and transfers power to the working load.

The reduction ratio (1250) is calculated by the formula: number of internal ring gear teeth ÷ number of sun gear teeth + 1. An input speed of 1500 r/min can be reduced to roughly 1.2 r/min (1500 ÷ 1250). Torque is amplified 1250 times (efficiency losses excluded), realizing low-speed and ultra-high-torque power output.

2. Performance Advantages: Four Core Features for Heavy-Duty Operating Conditions

The NCZD500-1250-1 features a large frame size of 500 and an ultra-high reduction ratio. It possesses optimized performance characteristics to satisfy heavy-load, low-speed and continuous running requirements, summarized as four key strengths:

  1. Ultra-high reduction ratio and exceptional torque for ultra-low speed heavy-duty scenarios With a reduction ratio reaching 1250, near the maximum limit for single-stage planetary drives, it directly converts high motor speed to ultra-low load speed without stacking multiple transmission stages. Supported by the high-rigidity 500 frame structure, its rated output torque ranges from 100000 to 200000 N·m (actual values refer to manufacturer data). It can drive massive loads including large ball mills and heavy rotating machinery, preventing equipment stall caused by insufficient torque.
