Environmentally friendly conveyor equipment reducer, selection skills for long-term continuous operation
The selection of reducers is crucial for the long-term continuous operation of environmentally friendly conveying equipment. Continuous operation places extremely high demands on the equipment's heat dissipation, fatigue resistance, and maintenance costs. Here are some systematic selection tips for you:
1. Accurate calculation of core parameters
Torque and safety factor: Accurate calculation of rated torque and peak torque is required. For long-term continuous operation, it is recommended to reserve sufficient load margin. The rated output torque of the reducer should be greater than the actual load torque multiplied by a safety factor of 1.2 to 1.5 times to prevent gear fatigue damage caused by long-term overload.
Thermal power verification: This is of utmost importance for continuous operation conditions. It is necessary to focus on checking the thermal power limit of the reducer to avoid lubricating oil failure and gear wear caused by continuous heat accumulation.
2. Model selection and efficiency considerations

Priority for high transmission efficiency models: In scenarios of 24-hour continuous operation, selecting high-efficiency reducers (such as planetary reducers, whose transmission efficiency can reach over 95%) can significantly reduce long-term energy consumption and save considerable electricity expenses.
According to the accuracy matching type: If environmentally friendly conveying equipment requires high positioning accuracy (such as automated sorting lines), priority should be given to using precision planetary reducers with small return clearances and high transmission accuracy; If it belongs to the scenario of heavy load and low precision, a hard toothed helical gear or parallel axis gear reducer with lower cost and high durability can be selected.
3. Environment and installation adaptation
Protection against harsh environments: Environmentally friendly conveying equipment is often exposed to dusty, humid, and even corrosive environments. A fully enclosed structure should be selected and equipped with a breathing valve, with a protection level of at least IP54 or higher (IP65 or higher for outdoor or highly corrosive environments), and equipped with anti rust coating and corrosion-resistant seals to prevent dust and water vapor from entering the interior.
Space and connection method: Choose a suitable structural form based on the on-site installation space layout (compact planetary gearboxes can be prioritized for narrow spaces). The connection between the motor and the reducer needs to ensure extremely high coaxiality (with a deviation of ≤ 0.05mm/m as much as possible) to reduce additional wear caused by unbalanced loads.
