Maintenance of gearbox under harsh working conditions: How to extend the service life of equipment in high temperature and dust environment?
1、 Optimize lubrication management
Choose suitable oil: For high-temperature environments, priority should be given to using synthetic gear oil or specialized lubricating grease with strong antioxidant and high-temperature resistance to avoid accelerated carbonization or loss of lubricating oil at high temperatures.
Shorten oil change cycle: The oil change frequency under harsh working conditions should be significantly higher than that under normal working conditions. Suggest shortening the oil change cycle to once every 1000-1500 hours, or regularly cleaning and replacing with new oil within 3-6 months.
Strict oil level control: Ensure that the oil level is between the upper and lower limits. Insufficient oil volume can lead to dry friction and sudden temperature rise; Excessive oil volume will increase stirring resistance, intensify heating, and increase the risk of oil leakage.

Strictly prevent oil pollution: When changing oil, thoroughly clean the filling and draining ports, use an oil pot with a filter to add oil, and prevent dust and impurities from entering the reducer with new oil.
2、 Strengthen cleaning and sealing protection
External dust removal and heat dissipation: Dust coverage can seriously hinder heat dissipation. It is recommended to wipe the shell with a dry soft cloth every week, and use compressed air (pressure ≤ 0.3MPa) every month to blow away the dust on the ventilation openings and heat sinks to prevent a decrease in heat dissipation efficiency.
Upgrade sealing protection: In dusty environments, it is recommended to install customized sealing protective covers (such as dust covers) for the gearbox and use sealing components with IP65 or higher protection levels to prevent impurities from entering from the source.
Shaft end protection: Install dust-proof sealing rings on easily contaminated parts such as the output shaft, and regularly check whether the seals are aging or worn. If oil leakage or aging is found, they should be replaced in a timely manner.
3、 Improve operating environment and heat dissipation conditions
Installation of auxiliary heat dissipation: For enclosed or continuously high temperature working conditions, cooling fans or cooling water pipelines can be installed on the equipment to forcibly enhance air circulation and control the working temperature within the ideal range of 40-60 ℃.
Reserved heat dissipation space: Optimize the installation layout of the equipment, avoid placing the gearbox in a narrow and enclosed space, and ensure that there is enough space around it for natural heat dissipation.
