Pre-installation preparation: Inspect the reducer casting surface for dents and cracks. Verify that the input and output shafts rotate freely without binding. Clean and smooth the mounting surface, clear away oil residues and burrs to prevent uneven stress after assembly.
Alignment requirements: When coupling the motor to the reducer, maintain shaft coaxiality error ≤ 0.2 mm and face runout ≤ 0.1 mm. Elastic couplings are recommended to mitigate damage to bearings and gear surfaces caused by alignment errors.
Mounting and orientation rules: Fasten the reducer base with high-strength bolts. Fit anti-loosening hardware including spring washers and lock nuts to prevent bolt loosening induced by operating vibration. Follow the nameplate orientation requirements; keep the lubricant oil level within the specified range. Do not mount the reducer upside down or at an incline greater than 15°.
Piping and seal check: For units fitted with lubrication and cooling pipelines, ensure all joints are tightly sealed with zero leakage. After installation, manually turn the input shaft to confirm no binding or abnormal noise before powering up for trial run.
Lubricating oil management: Carry out the first oil change after 500 working hours. Subsequent oil replacement is required every 2000–3000 hours or once per year. Use 220# or 320# extreme pressure industrial gear oil. Maintain oil level at the oil sight glass centerline to prevent overheating triggered by insufficient or excessive oil volume.
Routine inspection items: Check oil level and temperature weekly (normal operating temperature ≤ 80 ℃; shut down for troubleshooting if temperature exceeds 90 ℃). Inspect bolt tightness and seal leakage monthly. Examine gear tooth wear and bearing clearance every six months. Promptly repair or replace parts if gear pitting, scuffing, or abnormal bearing noise occurs.
Working condition adaptive maintenance: For dusty and humid working environments such as mining and chemical plants, install protective covers on the gearbox to block contaminants. For idle periods longer than one month, run the reducer under no-load for 10 minutes before shutdown, drain the old lubricant, and refill fresh oil before restarting.
Fault handling rules: Stop operation immediately if abnormal vibration or rising noise appears. Troubleshoot root causes such as misalignment, loose fasteners or worn gear teeth. Never run the reducer under overload or oil-starved conditions, as this will lead to permanent damage to gears and bearings.
