1. Product Description

Rib cooled high voltage induction motors

High‑voltage induction motors feature a robust cast‑iron frame. They are totally‑enclosed fan‑cooled motors with IC411 cooling system and IP55 protection as standard. IC416 cooling and IP66 protection are available as options.

HXR motors deliver power output up to 2,250 kW with shaft height of 560 mm. Both horizontal and vertical mounting are supported.

This catalogue only shows technical data of HXR motors under 50 Hz condition. Nevertheless, the motors can run at both 50 Hz and 60 Hz, with synchronous speed ranging from 500 rpm to 3600 rpm.

2. Mounting arrangements

Standard mounting arrangements for HXR motors

IM B3 (Code II: IM 1001) Standard floor mounting with feet downward (horizontal foot‑mounted type).
IM V1 (Code II: IM 3011) Flange‑mounted type with free shaft end pointing downwards (vertical solid‑shaft flange mounting).

3. Enclosure and cooling

Standard combination: IC411 / IP55

HXR motors adopt an external shaft‑driven fan to dissipate heat by ambient air. The motors are resistant to dust and water jets.

IC416 / IP55 (Optional) HXR motors can be supplied with IC416 cooling. A separate motor drives the cooling fan to meet heat dissipation requirements for low‑speed applications, especially for motors operated via variable‑speed drives.

Protection Ratings

IP55 Dust protection: Limited dust ingress permitted, but not enough to impair motor operation. Water jet protection: Water jets from any direction will not cause harmful damage.
IP66 (Optional) Dust protection: The enclosure is completely dust‑tight. Water jet protection: Powerful water jets (12.5 mm nozzle) from any direction will not cause damage.

Cooling Method IC411 Principle

Frame surface cooling: Primary coolant circulates inside the motor in a closed loop. Heat is transferred through motor outer surfaces (together with stator core and other thermally‑conductive components) to ambient cooling medium. The surface can be plain or ribbed; an outer shell may be equipped to improve heat dissipation.
Self‑circulation: Coolant flow depends on main motor speed, driven by rotor, rotor‑mounted components, or fan/pump mechanically coupled to the main motor.

4. Transport Package

Standard seaworthy export package: plywood case or fumigated wooden case, suitable for long‑distance sea and land transportation.

5. Warranty Period

Standard warranty: 12 months after commissioning or 18 months after delivery, whichever comes first. Extended warranty service is available. Please contact us for further information.
