How to check whether the axis lines of the input shaft and output shaft meet the requirements after the installation of the reducer is completed
1. Preparation before inspection
Before starting the measurement, it is necessary to ensure that the power supply of the reducer has been cut off, and the surfaces of the input shaft, output shaft, and coupling must be thoroughly cleaned to remove oil, dust, and debris to avoid impurities affecting the measurement accuracy. At the same time, check whether the coupling is damaged or worn, and replace it if necessary.
2. Core detection methods
According to different requirements for accuracy, the following three methods can be used:
Straight edge method (rough inspection): This is a simple and low-cost preliminary inspection method. Place the ruler flat on the coupling end faces of the input and output shafts, and observe whether there is a gap between the ruler and the end faces. If there is a gap at one end, it indicates an angle deviation; If the distances measured at multiple points on the circumference are inconsistent, it indicates the presence of parallel deviation. This method is only applicable for rough inspection.

Dial gauge method (conventional accuracy testing): Fix the magnetic gauge holder on the input shaft flange of the reducer, so that the measuring head of the dial gauge touches the outer circular surface (used to detect radial deviation) and the end surface (used to detect angular deviation) of the motor shaft. Slowly rotate the motor shaft for one full turn and record the maximum and minimum readings on the dial gauge. The radial deviation is (maximum radial reading - minimum radial reading)/2; The angular deviation is (maximum end face reading - minimum end face reading)/2.
Laser centering instrument method (high-precision detection): This is currently the most recommended high-precision method. Install the laser transmitter and receiver on two shafts respectively, and input the relevant dimensional parameters according to the instrument manual. Slowly rotate the shaft 360 degrees, and the instrument will measure and visually display the radial and angular deviation values and adjustment directions in real time. The detection error can be controlled within a very small range, which is very suitable for precision transmission systems.
3. Result judgment and correction
After the measurement is completed, it is necessary to compare the data with the standard:
Judgment criteria: For parallel axis reduction motors, it is usually required that the radial deviation be ≤ 0.05mm and the angular deviation be ≤ 0.05mm/100mm; For right angle or planetary reduction motors, the requirements are stricter, with radial deviation ≤ 0.03mm and angular deviation ≤ 0.03mm/100mm. In addition, some precision reducer enterprise standards require input shaft coaxiality to be ≤ 0.015mm and output shaft coaxiality to be ≤ 0.02mm.
Correction operation: If the deviation exceeds the allowable range, the height can be adjusted by adding or removing metal shims below the bottom of the reducer, or loosening the anchor bolts appropriately to move the equipment position for correction. After each adjustment, it is necessary to retest until all indicators are fully met before finally tightening the bolts.
