Is there a high incidence of faults in the reducer of the screw conveyor? Common problems and quick solutions

Spiral conveyors are commonly used for conveying powder and granular materials, with high dust levels and uneven loads, making them equipment with a high incidence of gearbox failures. Blockage, large load fluctuations, and dust intrusion can all cause abnormal noise, oil leakage, and jamming in the gearbox. 1. The gearbox produces abnormal noise and significant vibration. Most of them are caused by gear wear, bearing damage, or installation deviation. Long term dust entering the interior will exacerbate gear wear, increase clearance, and cause abnormal noise. Solution: Stop the machine to clean the internal dust, check the wear of gears and bearings, replace damaged ones in a timely manner, recalibrate the installation level, and fix the fastening bolts.

2. Oil leakage and seepage issues. Frequent vibration during the operation of the screw machine can easily lead to aging of the oil seal, loosening of bolts, blockage of the vent valve, and oil leakage. Minor oil leakage can be addressed by tightening bolts, replacing the vent valve, and in severe cases, directly replacing the oil seal. Regular inspection of the seal condition is necessary to avoid oil shortage and wear.

3. Lack of power and delivery lag. The core reason is that the gear ratio of the reducer is too small, the torque is insufficient, or long-term overload operation causes gear slippage. Solution: Replace the adaptive high speed ratio reducer, reduce the amount of single feeding, avoid material blockage and overload, and regularly clean the accumulated material inside the screw machine.

4. The body temperature is too high. Continuous heavy load operation, deterioration of lubricating oil, and excessive or insufficient oil volume can all lead to high temperature and overheating. It is necessary to replace the special lubricating oil in a timely manner, adjust the oil level to the standard scale, and install a heat dissipation device under high temperature conditions to avoid burning internal components due to high temperature.

5. The gearbox is stuck and unable to rotate. It is mostly caused by severe material blockage, gear tooth breakage, and bearing locking. It is strictly prohibited to forcibly start the machine. The blockage must be thoroughly cleaned, internal components disassembled and inspected, damaged gears and bearings replaced, and overloading problems of feeding investigated to avoid secondary damage.
