Is the noise from the conveyor reducer loud? Identify the four root causes and easily reduce noise and silence
Many factory conveyors operate with harsh noise and severe vibration, which not only affects the working environment of the workshop, but also damages equipment components and accelerates aging due to excessive noise. The reducer is the main source of conveyor noise, and most abnormal noise problems can be solved through precise troubleshooting. The following is a quick way to identify the source of noise and achieve equipment silent operation at low cost.
1. Gear wear and poor meshing produce noise. After long-term operation of the reducer, the gear tooth surface wears out, the clearance increases, and the meshing accuracy decreases. During operation, there will be rattling noises and rustling friction sounds. Minor wear can be relieved by replacing high-quality lubricating oil, while severe wear requires direct replacement of gear components to avoid gear cracking.
2. Bearing damage, lack of oil and dryness. The lack of oil, corrosion, and ball wear in bearings can produce continuous buzzing noise and vibration, which are the main causes of high-frequency noise. Regularly add lubricating grease, replace bearings promptly if they become stuck or make abnormal noises, and choose high-precision wear-resistant bearings.

3. Loose installation and misalignment. The gearbox is misaligned with the motor and conveyor, and the fixing bolts are loose, resulting in resonance noise during operation. Ensure precise coaxiality during installation, tighten all bolts diagonally, and install shock-absorbing pads to effectively reduce vibration noise.
4. Intrusion of debris and poor lubrication. Dust and iron filings entering the interior of the gearbox can cause abnormal noise due to gear friction; Using inferior lubricating oil, with viscosity that does not meet the standard and poor lubrication effect, can also exacerbate component friction and produce noise. Regularly clean internal impurities, replace original factory compatible lubricating oil, and maintain internal cleanliness.
Daily noise reduction maintenance can not only improve the workshop environment, but also reduce equipment wear and extend the service life of the gearbox, killing two birds with one stone.
