What are the typical sounds before damage in the B3SH16-31.5 gearbox
1、 High frequency sharp whistling sound
Sound characteristics: High frequency sharp whistling that synchronously increases with the increase of speed, especially evident at the moment of sudden speed rise, and the whistling will further intensify when the load increases.
Fault direction: Abnormal small gear backlash and improper adjustment of bearing preload force are pre warnings of imminent tooth surface bonding and uncontrolled bearing clearance.
2、 Deep and continuous roar

Sound characteristics: Continuous low-frequency dull "buzzing" sound, overall heavy and muffled listening sensation, accompanied by obvious shell vibration transmission.
Fault direction: Excessive bearing clearance and early fatigue peeling of rolling elements and raceways indicate that the internal fitting accuracy of the bearing has failed and is about to enter a rapid wear stage.
3、 Fine rustling and friction sound
Sound characteristics: uniform and continuous fine "rustling" sound, synchronously increasing with the increase of load, without obvious impact.
Fault direction: Early pitting and abrasive wear have appeared on the tooth surface, the oil film is beginning to break, and dry friction directly occurs on the metal surface, which is the initial signal of the peeling of the hardened layer on the tooth surface.
4、 Periodic clicking sound
Sound characteristics: Intermittent "clicking" impact sound that is strictly synchronized with the gear rotation frequency, with the strongest impact sensation at the start stop moment, and in severe cases accompanied by obvious shaking of the box.
Fault direction: The most typical warning sound before the occurrence of a broken tooth fault is the local collapse, early microcracks, or severe excessive tooth clearance on the tooth surface.
5、 The open and irregular clanging sound
Sound characteristics: The clear impact sound is particularly noticeable when unloaded at low speeds, and the abnormal noise decreases when the load is increased. The sound has no fixed strict period.
Fault direction: Excessive backlash of the gear and axial movement of the shaft indicate that the assembly reference has failed. Long term operation can cause uneven wear on the entire tooth surface.
Under normal operating conditions, the sound of the B3SH gearbox is a smooth and uniform light meshing sound, with a noise level of no more than 85dB (A) at a distance of 1 meter from the gearbox. Once any of the above types of abnormal noises occur, it is necessary to immediately reduce the load for troubleshooting to avoid minor faults from escalating into irreversible gearbox scrapping accidents.
