What are the typical signs of resonance in the DCY280-25 hard tooth surface gear reducer
1、 Abnormal vibration characteristics
Amplitude mutation: The amplitude of the entire machine suddenly surges within a specific speed range, far exceeding the normal operating threshold of 0.05mm, and in severe cases can reach 0.2mm or more, and small fluctuations in speed can cause severe amplitude jumps.
Abnormal spectral characteristics: There is a prominent peak in the vibration spectrum that completely coincides with the natural frequency of the gearbox, which is not the conventional gear meshing frequency or bearing fault frequency, and the amplitude of this peak is much higher than other characteristic frequencies.
Strong local vibration sensation: When touching the box body, foot flange, and input/output shaft bearing seat, one can feel obvious "tingling" or even high-frequency shaking sensation, and the position of the foot bolt is accompanied by regular vibration.

2、 Special characteristics of abnormal noise
Resonant whistling: A sharp, sustained high-frequency "buzzing" whistling sound with a full and strong penetrating tone that immediately weakens or disappears after leaving the fixed speed range.
Spread of abnormal sound field: Abnormal sound is not concentrated in the local position of gears or bearings, but the entire box becomes the sound source, and the surrounding frames and pipelines will also be accompanied by resonance sound synchronously.
Start stop impact noise: When the gearbox starts and stops and crosses the resonance speed range, it will make a noticeable "thud" impact sound, and the impact sensation is particularly prominent when switching between forward and reverse rotation.
3、 Abnormal temperature and operating parameters
Abnormal temperature rise rate: Under resonance state, the meshing impact of the tooth surface intensifies, and the oil temperature can quickly rise by more than 10 ℃ within 10 minutes, far higher than the normal temperature rise rate during operation.
Motor current fluctuation: When the load remains stable, the motor current exhibits irregular and significant periodic fluctuations, with a fluctuation amplitude exceeding 15% of the normal operating value.
4、 Abnormal connection and assembly status
Abnormal loosening of fasteners: The anchor bolts, coupling connection bolts, and box flange bolts repeatedly loosen in a short period of time, even after being tightened with standard torque, they will still loosen again.
Early failure of seals: Abnormal early oil leakage at the interface between the input/output shaft oil seal and the housing is a typical phenomenon caused by resonance and repeated alternating impact on the seals.
5、 Abnormal transmission accuracy and component status
Excessive shaft runout: The radial runout of the output shaft exceeds 0.1mm, far exceeding the allowable tolerance range of the design of this type of reducer.
Abnormal wear of tooth surface: Irregular pitting and peeling marks appear on the tooth surface in a short period of time, and the damage is concentrated in the middle of the tooth width, which is not a conventional form of eccentric wear.
6、 Characteristics associated with working conditions
Speed range locking: The resonance phenomenon is strictly locked within a narrow speed range, and only when the motor speed falls within this range will all abnormal symptoms erupt. After accelerating or decelerating and leaving this range, vibration and abnormal noise immediately return to normal levels.
Low load sensitivity: The intensity and occurrence of resonance have a low correlation with the size of the load, and even during no-load operation, significant vibration exceedance and whistling phenomena can be observed.
