What are the detailed steps for connecting the ZDY hard tooth reducer to the motor

1、 Preparation and inspection before installation

1. Specification verification: Confirm that the motor model, power, and shaft diameter fully match the input shaft specifications of the ZDY reducer to avoid installation failure caused by mismatches.

2. Appearance inspection: Check the appearance of the reducer and motor to ensure that there are no transportation bumps, thread damage, shaft deformation, etc., and count whether the bolts, sealing rings, couplings, and other accessories are complete.

3. Cleaning treatment: Use a dust-free cloth or alcohol swab to thoroughly wipe the motor flange surface, motor shaft, reducer flange surface, and input hole, remove impurities such as oil, dust, iron filings, and rust proof oil, and ensure that the installation contact surface is flat and free of foreign objects.

4. Tool preparation: Prepare standard wrenches, hex wrenches, torque wrenches, soft tapping tools (such as copper hammers or rubber hammers), etc.

2、 Standard installation steps

1. Shaft and key processing: Check the size of the motor output shaft. If the motor shaft diameter is ≤ Φ 35, the flat key on the motor shaft needs to be removed first (if the shaft diameter is>Φ 35, it can be skipped directly); If a shaft sleeve is needed, first install the adapter shaft sleeve into the input hole of the reducer and ensure that it fits tightly without looseness.

2. Coupling installation (if applicable): If a coupling is used for connection, fix half of the coupling on the motor output shaft and the other half on the gearbox input shaft. Use elastic pins or diaphragms to connect the two halves of the coupling, ensuring a tight connection and leaving appropriate clearance.

3. Motor pre installation and alignment: Align the motor vertically with the input hole (or coupling) of the reducer, and slowly and smoothly push it in. It is strictly prohibited to tilt, forcefully press or knock the flange to avoid shaft deformation or damage to the sealing components of the reducer. Ensure that the motor flange is fully aligned with the reducer flange, and the coaxiality error should be controlled within a very small range (such as ≤ 0.03mm).

4. Bolt pre tightening: According to the torque locking specification, use a torque wrench in diagonal order (such as 1 → 4 → 2 → 3) to pre tighten the flange hex screws. At this time, the torque is set to about 50% of the specified value, only for preliminary fixation.

5. Tightening ring/locking device locking: If the reducer is equipped with a tightening ring, use a torque wrench to cross lock the tightening ring screws twice according to the specified torque to ensure that there is no relative displacement between the motor shaft and the input hole.

6. Bolt final locking: Once again, tighten the flange outer hexagon screws in diagonal order to the specified torque, avoiding uneven stress on the flange.

7. Manual turning test: After installation, manually rotate the motor shaft 3-5 turns. The entire process should be free of jamming, friction noise, and eccentric shaking, and the turning resistance should be uniform, which is considered qualified. If lagging is found, the coaxiality must be recalibrated and forced power on is prohibited.

3、 Trial operation and inspection

No load test run: After confirming that there are no errors, power on and conduct a 3-5 minute no-load test run. Observe whether the equipment runs smoothly, whether there is obvious vibration or abnormal noise, whether the surface temperature of the reducer is normal (≤ 45 ℃), and whether there is no oil leakage.

Load test run: After no abnormalities are found in the no-load condition, gradually load to the rated load and run continuously for a period of time (such as 30 minutes). Check the equipment status, vibration amplitude, and temperature rise again. Once confirmed to be normal, it can be put into formal use.
