Troubleshooting of abnormal noise from rotary kiln reducer! Quickly locate the root cause of the problem

1. Uniform slight buzzing sound: normal operating conditions. The gearbox operates with only a smooth and low humming sound, without any noise or vibration, which belongs to the normal meshing transmission sound of gears. The equipment is in good working condition and does not require any treatment.

2. Harsh metal friction sound: Insufficient lubrication or gear wear. Sharp and piercing friction noise is likely caused by a lack of lubricating oil, deterioration of oil quality, and dry friction operation of gears and bearings; It may also be due to severe wear, pitting, chipping, or abnormal meshing clearance on the surface of the gear. Immediate shutdown is required to check the oil level and quality, replace the lubricating oil, and inspect the gear wear.

3. Periodic impact sound: gear tooth breakage, debris jamming. Gear teeth are broken and debris is stuck. The regular impact and stuttering noise accompanied by slight vibration during equipment operation is most likely caused by local gear breakage, tooth surface damage, or internal metal debris and dust agglomeration, leading to meshing jamming. Immediate shutdown is required to dismantle the machine and clean up debris, repair and replace damaged gears to prevent the fault from escalating.

4. Dull rumbling sound+severe vibration: bearing damage, coaxiality deviation. There is a low rumbling noise, and the equipment vibration is significantly intensified, mostly due to bearing wear, ball damage, or coupling coaxiality deviation, or loose equipment fixation. Need to calibrate installation accuracy, replace damaged bearings, and tighten fixed components.

5. Intermittent abnormal noise: overload, excessive impact load. Abnormal noise is sometimes absent and often occurs during equipment start stop and load changes. It is mainly caused by instantaneous overload and uneven material load, resulting in impact abnormal noise. It is necessary to adjust the feeding rhythm to avoid frequent exposure of equipment to instantaneous overload.

Timely and accurate investigation of abnormal noises can effectively avoid major equipment accidents and ensure the continuous and stable operation of the rotary kiln production line.
