Product Description

YKS series high voltage three-phase induction motors are products independently developed by our company since the 1980s with over 30 years of iteration and upgrading. In recent years, benefits from upgraded insulation materials, low-loss silicon steel sheets and continuous design optimization, motor losses are effectively lowered while power capacity is improved. Drawing on 60 years of experience in high voltage induction motor design and manufacturing, we have carried out the latest round of optimization to meet domestic and industrial market demands. Test results verify that this new series reaches or approaches the world advanced level in both technical and economic performance. Mass production has been realized, and motors are widely supplied across China and exported to over 20 countries and regions in Europe, America, Africa and other areas, winning consistent positive feedback from end users.

Made of high-quality raw materials and processed with mature manufacturing techniques, this series features high efficiency, energy saving, low vibration, stable operation and easy installation and maintenance.

Its power ratings, electrical characteristics, mounting dimensions and tolerances comply with GB755 Rotating Electrical Machines – Ratings and Performance, IEC60034-1 and relevant mechanical industry standards.

Five enclosure protection grades are available: IP23, IP44, IP54, IP55 and IP56, in accordance with GB4942.1 and IEC60034-5. IP23 motors can be converted to IP44 (pipe ventilation type) or IPW24 (weatherproof type). Custom protection classes are available upon request.

Three standard cooling modes are optional: IC01, IC611 and IC81W, complying with GB/T1993 and IEC60034-6. Other cooling solutions can be customized as required.

The basic construction and mounting form is IMB3 (horizontal foot-mounted), meeting GB997 and IEC60034-7 mounting code requirements.

Based on rotor type, protection class and cooling method, the product family is divided into 8 sub-series. The technical data and installation dimensions of 10kV motors listed in this catalogue can be adapted for 3kV, 10.5kV and 11kV versions of the same frame size.

Application

This series high voltage motors are designed to drive general industrial equipment including compressors, ventilation fans, water pumps, unloaders and conveying machinery, serving as prime movers for mines, machinery factories, petrochemical plants, power stations and other industrial & mining enterprises.

For applications with high inertia loads such as blowers, coal mills, rolling mills, crushers and belt conveyors, customers need to provide complete technical parameters and sign a technical agreement for customized design to guarantee reliable motor operation.

• Maximum ambient air temperature ≤40℃; minimum ambient temperature: -15℃ for rolling bearing motors, 5℃ for sleeve bearing motors (YKS / YRKS series minimum ambient temperature: 5℃)
• For YKS and YRKS water-cooled motors, cooling water inlet temperature: 5℃ ~ 33℃
• Monthly average maximum relative humidity 90% in humid months, with monthly average minimum temperature ≤25℃

Construction Description

Y and YR are base series with IP23 protection and IC01 cooling. Derivative types include YKS (air-water cooled), YQF (weatherproof), YKK (air-air cooled), YRKS, YRQF and YRKK motors with varied protection and cooling configurations.

The motor adopts widely accepted box-type steel plate welded frame and end shields, featuring high rigidity and light weight. After removing the protective cover or cooler, internal components are accessible for inspection, installation and maintenance. The stator uses outer pressing structure. Stator windings adopt Class F insulation and anti-corona materials. Winding terminals are fixed by special reliable binding technology. The whole stator undergoes VPI vacuum pressure impregnation with Class F solventless varnish, delivering outstanding insulation, moisture-proof and shock-resistant performance.

Most squirrel-cage rotors of this series are cast aluminum type with zero rotor bar breakage risk for dependable operation. Copper bar squirrel-cage rotors use mature high-reliability welding and slot anchoring technology. Wound rotors are insulated with Class F materials and also processed by VPI impregnation.

Two bearing configurations are available: rolling bearings and sleeve bearings, selected according to motor power, speed and protection grade. The base bearing protection grade is IP44, which will be upgraded together with higher motor enclosure protection.

Rolling bearing versions are fitted with online oil filling and draining ports, allowing lubricant replacement without machine shutdown using dedicated tools.

The main terminal box is sealed with IP54 protection grade, normally fitted on the drive-end right side and can be rearranged to the left side on request. Cable entry ports can be oriented upward, downward, leftward or rightward. Independent grounding terminals are built inside the box.

All measuring instruments and gauges are calibrated annually. Each component is subject to strict inspection as below:

Test Items

Every motor must complete factory testing before shipment and comes with an official test report once qualified.

• Routine test: Winding three-phase DC resistance, winding insulation resistance to earth, winding high voltage withstand test, no-load current, no-load power, no-load loss, three-phase no-load current unbalance, locked rotor current, locked rotor torque, maximum torque, rotation direction, vibration (horizontal / vertical / axial), noise etc.
• Type test: Full load input power, full load current, stator winding loss, rotor winding loss, iron loss, mechanical loss, stray loss, full load slip, stator winding temperature rise, bearing temperature, hot insulation resistance, overload test, full load power factor, efficiency etc.

Warranty Period

Standard warranty: 12 months from commissioning or 18 months after delivery, whichever occurs earlier. Extended warranty service is available upon separate inquiry.
