Product Description

Y, YKS, YQF, YKK, YR, YRKS, YRQF and YRKK series high voltage three-phase induction motors were introduced and independently developed by our company back in the 1980s, with more than 30 years of iteration history. Benefiting from continuous upgrades of insulation materials, low-loss silicon steel sheet adoption, performance grade improvement and design optimization, these motors feature reduced power loss and higher power density.

Drawing on our 60-year experience in high voltage induction motor design and manufacturing, we have completed the latest round of optimization to meet domestic and industrial market demands. Verified by type tests, this product series reaches or approaches the world’s advanced level in both technical and economic performance. Mass production has been realized, and products are widely supplied across China and exported to over 20 countries and regions including Europe, America, Africa, Hong Kong and Macao, earning consistent recognition from end users.

Manufactured with premium raw materials and mature processing techniques, this motor series delivers high efficiency, energy saving, low vibration, stable operation and easy installation & maintenance.

Its power ratings, electrical characteristics, mounting dimensions and tolerances comply with GB755 (Rotating electrical machines — Ratings and performance), IEC 60034-1 and relevant machinery industry standards.

In accordance with GB4942.1 and IEC 60034-5, the enclosure protection grades cover IP23, IP44, IP54, IP55 and IP56. IP23 motors can be converted to IP44 (pipe ventilation type) or IPW24 (weather protected type). Custom protection classes are available upon request.

Cooling types follow GB/T1993 and IEC 60034-6, including IC01, IC611 and IC81W. Other cooling modes can be customized as required.

The standard construction and mounting arrangement is IMB3 (horizontal foot-mounted), conforming to GB997 and IEC 60034-7.

Based on rotor type, protection class and cooling method, the series is divided into 8 sub-models as below:

All 10kV motors listed in this range can be adapted into 3kV, 10.5kV and 11kV versions with matching frame sizes.

Application

This series is widely used to drive compressors, fans, water pumps, feeders, conveyors and other general machinery, serving as prime movers for mines, machinery plants, petrochemical facilities, power plants and other industrial & mining enterprises.

For loads with large rotary inertia such as blowers, coal mills, rolling mills, crushers and belt conveyors, customers shall provide corresponding technical data and sign a technical agreement with us before order placement. This supports customized design and guarantees stable motor operation.

Construction Description

Y and YR are the base models with IP23 protection and IC01 cooling. All derivative types including YKS (air-water cooling), YQF (weather protected), YKK (air-air cooling), YRKS, YRQF and YRKK are developed from them.

The motor adopts internationally popular box-type structure. Frame and end shields are steel plate welded for high rigidity and light weight. After removing the protective cover or cooler, internal parts are accessible for convenient inspection, installation and maintenance.

The stator adopts external clamping structure. Stator winding uses Class F insulation and corona-resistant materials, with reliable special binding for terminal fixation. The whole stator undergoes VPI vacuum pressure impregnation with solventless Class F varnish, achieving outstanding insulation, moisture resistance and impulse withstand performance.

Most squirrel-cage rotors are cast aluminum type with low failure rate and reliable operation. Copper bar squirrel cage rotors adopt advanced welding technology and firm slot fixation. Wound rotors are equipped with Class F insulation and also treated by VPI process.

Two bearing configurations are available: rolling bearing and sliding bearing, selected according to motor power and speed. The base bearing protection grade is IP44 and can be upgraded together with higher motor enclosure protection.

Rolling bearing versions are fitted with on-line oil filling and draining ports. Special grease tools support grease replenishment and discharge without shutdown.

The main terminal box is sealed (IP54 rated). It is normally fitted on the non-drive side right (viewed from shaft extension), and can be switched to the left side on request. Cable entry direction can be adjusted to top, bottom, left or right. Independent grounding terminal is equipped inside the box.

Starting Instruction for Y, YKS, YQF, YKK Induction Motors

Advanced computer simulation is applied to calculate temperature and stress distribution of squirrel cage rotors, to prevent early damage caused by overload during startup. Please comply with the following requirements:

• The total inertia of driven equipment (converted to motor speed) shall not exceed the allowable load J value specified in technical datasheet
• Terminal voltage at motor side shall not be lower than 85% of rated voltage during starting
• Load torque characteristic shall match typical pump or fan curve

When above conditions are satisfied, the motor allows two successive cold starts or one hot start, with natural coast-down interval between starts. A waiting period of 1 hour is required for further restart after exceeding the limit.

If the load inertia exceeds the specified value, frequent startup is required, or heavy-load startup is needed, please contact our engineering team for customized design to ensure reliable starting performance.

All measuring instruments and gauges are calibrated annually. Full process inspection is implemented for every component:

Test Items

Every motor must complete factory test before shipment, and a formal test report will be issued for each unit.

• Routine test: Winding DC resistance, insulation resistance to earth, high voltage withstand test, no-load current, no-load power & loss, three-phase current unbalance, locked rotor current & torque, maximum torque, rotation direction, vibration (horizontal / vertical / axial), noise, etc.
• Type test: Full load input power, full load current, stator loss, rotor loss, iron loss, mechanical loss, stray loss, slip, stator winding temperature rise, bearing temperature, hot insulation resistance, overload test, power factor, efficiency, etc.

Warranty Terms

Standard warranty: 12 months from commissioning or 18 months after delivery, whichever comes first. Extended warranty is available upon separate negotiation.
