Product Description

Y, YKS, YQF, YKK, YR, YRKS, YRQF and YRKK series high voltage three-phase induction motors are products independently developed and upgraded by our company since the 1980s, with more than 30 years of iteration history. Benefiting from upgraded insulating materials, low-loss silicon steel sheets, technical upgrades and optimized design, these motors feature reduced losses and higher power density. Drawing on 60 years of experience in high voltage three-phase induction motor design and manufacturing, we have completed the latest round of optimization to meet domestic and industrial market demands. Test results show that this new product series reaches or approaches global advanced levels in both technical and economic performance. The motors are mass-produced and exported to over 20 countries and regions including Europe, America, Africa, Hong Kong and Macao, and widely supplied across China, earning consistent positive feedback from end users.

This series adopts premium raw materials and mature manufacturing processes, delivering advantages of high efficiency, energy saving, low vibration, stable operation and easy installation & maintenance.

Its power grades, electrical characteristics, mounting dimensions and tolerances comply with GB755 Rotating Electrical Machines - Ratings and Performance, IEC 60034-1 Rotating Electrical Machines - Ratings and Performance and relevant machinery industry standards.

In accordance with GB4942.1 and IEC 60034-5, this motor series offers 5 enclosure protection classes: IP23, IP44, IP54, IP55 and IP56. IP23 motors can be converted to IP44 (pipe ventilation) or IPW24 (weatherproof type). Custom protection classes are available upon request.

Following GB/T1993 and IEC 60034-6, three standard cooling methods are optional: IC01, IC611 and IC81W. Other cooling configurations can be customized as required.

The standard construction and mounting form is IMB3 (horizontal foot-mounted), conforming to GB997 and IEC 60034-7 for rotating machine construction and mounting codes.

Based on rotor type, protection class and cooling method, the series is divided into 8 sub-series:

All 10kV motor frames listed in this catalogue can be adapted for 3kV, 10.5kV and 11kV versions with matching installation dimensions.

Application

This series drives various general machinery such as compressors, fans, water pumps, feeders and conveying equipment. It serves as prime movers for mines, machinery plants, petrochemical facilities, power plants and other industrial & mining sites. If used for equipment with high rotary inertia including blowers, coal mills, rolling mills, crushers and belt conveyors, customers shall provide complete technical data and sign a technical agreement with us for customized design to guarantee reliable motor operation.

Construction Description

Y and YR are base models with IP23 protection and IC01 cooling. Derivative models include YKS (air-water cooled), YQF (weatherproof), YKK (air-air cooled), YRKS, YRQF and YRKK.

The motor adopts internationally popular box-type construction. Frame and end shields are steel plate welded for high rigidity and light weight. After removing the protective cover or cooler, internal inspection and access are available for simple installation and maintenance. The stator uses external pressing structure. Stator windings adopt Class F insulation and anti-corona materials. Winding terminals are fixed with specialized reliable binding technology. The whole stator goes through VPI vacuum pressure impregnation with solventless Class F varnish, ensuring superior insulation, moisture resistance and surge withstand capability.

Squirrel cage rotors are mostly cast aluminum type with proven reliability and low risk of breakage. Copper bar squirrel cage rotors use advanced welding and slot fixing processes. Wound rotors are insulated with Class F materials and also treated by VPI impregnation.

Bearing types include rolling bearing and sliding bearing, selected according to motor power, speed and base protection grade IP44. Higher protection grades will be applied for bearings when the motor enclosure protection is upgraded.

Rolling bearing versions are fitted with on-line oil filling and draining ports. Special grease tools support oil replenishment and discharge without shutdown.

The main terminal box is sealed with IP54 protection, normally fitted on the right side viewed from the shaft extension end; left-side installation is optional per customer request. Cable entry holes can be oriented up, down, left or right. Independent earthing terminals are built inside the box.

Starting Instruction for Y, YKS, YQF, YKK Induction Motors

Advanced computer simulation calculates squirrel cage rotor temperature and stress to avoid premature motor damage caused by overload during startup. Customers shall comply with the following requirements:

• Moment of inertia (converted to motor speed) of driven rotating equipment shall not exceed the load J value specified in technical datasheets
• Grid terminal voltage at motor terminals shall remain no less than 85% of rated voltage during startup
• Load torque characteristic matches typical pump and fan curves

Within above limits, the motor allows two successive cold starts or one hot start, with interval until full natural stop. Additional restart is permitted after one hour cooling down.

If the driven inertia exceeds listed J values, frequent starting or heavy-load startup is required, please contact our engineering team for customized design to guarantee successful starting.

Test Items

Every motor must complete testing before delivery and comes with an official test report once qualified.

• Routine test: Winding three-phase DC resistance, winding insulation resistance to earth, high voltage withstand test, no-load current, no-load power, no-load loss, three-phase no-load current unbalance, locked rotor current, locked rotor torque, maximum torque, rotation direction, vibration (horizontal / vertical / axial), noise, etc.
• Type test: Full load input power, full load current, stator winding loss, rotor winding loss, core loss, mechanical loss, stray loss, full load slip, stator winding temperature rise, bearing temperature, hot insulation resistance, overload test, full load power factor, efficiency, etc.

Warranty Period

Standard warranty: 12 months from commissioning or 18 months from shipment, whichever occurs earlier. Extended warranty options are available upon inquiry.
