Modular Induction Motors, Type AMI

AMI engineered modular induction motors are designed to provide exceptional reliability and availability in the toughest and most demanding industrial applications. Built upon the motor industry's most successful modular platform, these tailor-made motors offer the flexibility to be adapted to highly specific configurations while meeting a broad variety of rigorous application requirements. They fully comply with all relevant international standards and are available for both direct-on-line (DOL) and variable speed drive (VSD) operations.

The AMI series features a robust welded steel frame with standard shaft heights ranging from 400 to 630 mm. Motors can be mounted horizontally or vertically, and while technical data is often referenced at 50 Hz, they operate seamlessly at both 50 Hz and 60 Hz with synchronous speeds from 500 to 3600 rpm. The current catalogue covers output powers up to 8,000 kW, with the complete range extending up to 23,000 kW.

Mounting Arrangements

IM B3 (Code II: IM 1001): Horizontal foot-mounted.
IM V1 (Code II: IM 4011): Vertical flange-mounted (free shaft end facing downwards).

Enclosure and Cooling Systems

IC01 / IP24W: A weather-protected motor featuring a shaft-mounted cooling fan inside the housing. The air intake path is engineered with three acute direction changes (exceeding 90 degrees) and an average velocity not exceeding 3 m/s. This design allows heavier airborne particles to settle, effectively reducing the ingress of rain, snow, and dust, while providing protection against splashing water from any direction.
IC611 / IP55: A fully enclosed design equipped with an air-to-air heat exchanger. It utilizes shaft-mounted fans on both the inside and outside of the casing to supply separate internal and external cooling circuits, offering complete protection against dust and splashing water.
IC81W / IP55: A fully enclosed motor fitted with an air-to-water heat exchanger. An internal shaft-mounted fan supplies the internal cooling circuit, ensuring robust protection against dust and splashing water.
IC31 / IP55: Designed with inlet and outlet pipes for remote cooling air. This version essentially consists of the AMI motor frame without an upper cover, maintaining IP55 protection against dust and splashing water.

Packaging and Warranty

Packaging: Exported in standard seaworthy packaging, utilizing plywood or wooden fumigation packages suitable for long-distance transportation by sea or land.
Warranty: The standard warranty period is 12 months after commissioning or 18 months after delivery, whichever comes first. Extended warranty periods are available upon request.
