2. Product Description
The
AMI engineered modular induction motors are designed to deliver
exceptional reliability and availability in the most demanding
industrial applications. Built upon the motor industry's most successful
modular platform, these tailor-made motors offer the flexibility to
adapt to highly specific configurations while complying with all
relevant international standards. They are available for both
direct-on-line (DOL) and variable speed drive (VSD) operations.
Featuring
a welded steel frame, standard shaft heights range from 400 to 630 mm,
and the motors can be mounted horizontally or vertically. While standard
catalog data typically highlights 50 Hz operation, these motors operate
seamlessly at both 50 Hz and 60 Hz, offering synchronous speeds from
500 to 3600 rpm. The current AMI range covers output powers up to 8,000
kW, with the complete series extending up to 23,000 kW.
3. Mounting Arrangements
Standard mounting options include:

IM B3 (Code II: IM 1001): Horizontal foot mounted.

IM V1 (Code II: IM 4011): Vertical flange mounted (free shaft end facing downwards).

4. Enclosure and Cooling Systems
The AMI series offers versatile cooling and protection configurations to suit diverse environmental conditions:

IC01 / IP24 (Weather Protected): Features a shaft-mounted cooling fan inside the housing. The air intake
path is engineered with three acute direction changes (>90 degrees)
and an average velocity not exceeding 3 m/s, allowing heavier airborne
particles to settle and protecting against rain, snow, and splashing
water.

IC611 / IP55 (Air-to-Air Heat Exchanger): A fully enclosed design utilizing an air-to-air heat exchanger.
Shaft-mounted fans are fitted both inside and outside the casing to
supply separate cooling circuits, providing complete protection against
dust and splashing water.

IC81W / IP55 (Air-to-Water Heat Exchanger): A fully enclosed motor equipped with an air-to-water heat exchanger. An
internal shaft-mounted fan supplies the internal cooling circuit,
ensuring robust protection against dust and splashing water.

IC31 / IP55 (Remote Cooling Air): Fitted with inlet and outlet pipes to utilize remote cooling air. This
configuration essentially uses the AMI motor frame without an upper
cover, maintaining IP55 protection against dust and splashing water.

IC01 (Asymmetric Circulation): Features IC01 cooling with an asymmetric inside air circulation design.
5. Packaging
All
motors are secured in standard seaworthy packaging suitable for
long-distance transportation by sea or land. Options include plywood
packages or wooden fumigation packages to ensure safe transit.
6. Warranty Period

Standard Warranty: 12 months after commissioning, or 18 months after delivery, whichever comes first.
