Product Description

1. Product Overview

NMK series modular slip-ring motors are engineered for heavy load inertia applications. Slip ring motors deliver high starting torque with low starting current, making them ideal for heavy inertia loads such as mill drives and sites with weak power grid conditions.

NMK slip ring motors reduce mechanical impact during startup and extend service life of connected driven equipment. They maintain stable high torque across the full speed range and maximize operational reliability.

These motors are widely adopted in mining, cement and metal industries for mills, crushers, fans and conveyors. They also serve water industry pumps, plus safe-area pumps, compressors and mixers for petrochemical applications.

NMK slip ring motors feature frame shaft heights from 400 mm to 710 mm. Standard configurations include IC611/IP55 and IC81W/IP55 cooling & protection, with maximum rated power up to 10,000 kW.

The motor adopts welded steel frame. The slip ring assembly can be equipped with permanent contact brushes or brush lifting devices. The slip rings are enclosed inside a separate housing mounted at the non-drive end, isolated from the main motor frame. Liquid resistance starter (LRS) can be supplied upon request.

This catalog only presents typical technical parameters for 50Hz, 6kV & 11kV motors with 4, 6 and 8 poles. 2. Mounting Arrangements

IM B3 (IM 1001) horizontal foot mounted is the standard mounting form for NMK motors. Other mounting types such as IM1002 are available on request.

3. Enclosure and Cooling System

Standard cooling and protection combinations for NMK motors are IC611/IP55 and IC81W/IP55. Alternative cooling modes including IC616, IC86W can be customized.

IC611/IP55: Fully enclosed structure equipped with an air-to-air heat exchanger on motor body. Shaft-driven fans are installed inside main frame, slip ring housing and outer casing to support internal and external cooling circuits. IP55 enclosure protects the motor against dust ingress and splashing water from all directions.
IC81W/IP55: Totally enclosed motor fitted with air-to-water heat exchangers on both motor body and slip ring unit housing. A shaft-mounted fan inside casing circulates the internal cooling air. IP55 rating provides full protection against dust and omnidirectional splashing water.

4. Packaging

Export standard seaworthy packing. Options include plywood case or fumigated wooden case, suitable for long-distance sea and land transportation.

5. Warranty

Standard warranty: 12 months after commissioning or 18 months after shipment, whichever occurs first. Extended warranty service is available, feel free to contact us for terms.
