1. Product Overview: HXR 560 Rib Cooled Motors

HXR rib cooled high voltage motors adopt heavy-duty cast iron frame and totally enclosed fan cooled structure. IC411 cooling system and IP55 protection are standard configuration. IC416 cooling and IP66 protection can be supplied as optional selections.

HXR series motors feature shaft height 560 and maximum power output up to 2,250 kW. Both horizontal and vertical mounting types are supported. The catalog technical data sheet for HXR motors is shown at 50 Hz, while the motor itself can operate under 50 Hz and 60 Hz conditions, with synchronous speed covering 500 to 3600 rpm.

2. Mounting Arrangements

Standard mounting versions for HXR motors

• Code I: IM B3 / Code II: IM 1001 Standard floor mounting, feet downward (horizontal foot mounted type).
• Code I: IM V1 / Code II: IM 3011 Flange mounting with free shaft end facing downwards (vertical solid shaft flange mounted type).

3. Enclosure and Cooling

Standard Combination: IC411 / IP55

HXR motors are fitted with externally shaft-driven fan, which uses ambient air for heat dissipation. The motor housing can resist dust ingress and water jet impact. Working principle can be referred to diagram 27.

Optional Combination: IC416 / IP55

IC416 cooling system is available as an option. Auxiliary fan with independent drive supplies cooling airflow, which is ideal for low-speed operation, especially for motors running with variable speed drives.

IP55 Protection

• Dust protection: Dust may enter the enclosure in small amounts, but the accumulated dust will not impair motor operation.
• Water jet protection: Water jets sprayed from any direction will not cause damage to the motor.

IP66 Protection (Optional)

HXR motors can be built up to IP66 protection grade.

• Dust protection: Fully dust-tight enclosure.
• Water jet protection: Powerful water jets from 12.5 mm nozzle hitting the enclosure from any direction will not lead to motor failure.

IC411 Cooling Principle

• Frame surface cooling: Internal coolant circulates in closed loop inside the motor. Heat transfers through stator core and conductive components to the motor outer surface, then dissipates into surrounding air. The ribbed frame enhances heat exchange performance.
• Self-circulation cooling: Coolant flow is driven by motor rotation. Power comes from rotor assembly or rotor-mounted fan/pump unit coupled on the main motor shaft.

4. Packaging

Export-grade seaworthy packaging Plywood case or fumigated wooden case. Suitable for long-distance sea and land transportation.

5. Warranty Period

Standard warranty: 12 months after commissioning or 18 months after goods delivery, whichever comes first. Extended warranty service is available. Please contact our sales team for further information.
