1. AXR Series Rib Cooled Motors

The AXR series represents the latest generation of multi-purpose rib cooled induction motors, featuring high power density, flexible configuration and convenient maintenance. It is built upon decades of accumulated experience in electric motor manufacturing.

These motors set a new industry benchmark, delivering superior power-to-weight ratio compared with traditional rib cooled motor designs. Thanks to high power density, users can often select one smaller frame size for the same power output, saving installation space and enabling more compact system layout.

AXR motors conform to mainstream industrial standards including API 541 and Shell DEP, as well as custom client requirements. Constructed with robust cast iron frames, the standard version adopts IC411 rib cooling and IP55 protection grade. IC416 cooling and optional IP66 protection are also available, and the IP66 rating has been validated by an independent authoritative testing institute.

The AXR motor range covers rated power up to 1800 kW, with shaft heights from 315 mm to 500 mm. Both horizontal and vertical mounting types are supported. This catalog provides technical parameters under 50Hz and 60Hz power supply, corresponding to synchronous speeds ranging from 500 rpm to 3600 rpm.

2. Mounting Arrangements

Available standard mounting configurations for AXR motors:

• IM B3 (IM 1001): Horizontal foot-mounted, feet at bottom for floor installation
• IM V1 (IM 4011): Vertical flange-mounted, flange and free shaft end facing downward with solid shaft
• IM B35 (IM 2001): Combined foot-and-flange horizontal mounting. End shield integrated flange, single cylindrical shaft extension, feet downward

3. Enclosure and Cooling System

IC411 / IP55

Equipped with an external shaft-driven fan to draw ambient air for cooling. The enclosure protects the motor against dust ingress and water jets.

IC416 / IP55

IC416 cooling option uses an independent auxiliary fan motor to supply cooling airflow. This design is ideal for low-speed operation scenarios, especially for variable speed drive applications.

Protection Grade Definition

• IP55: Limited dust may enter the enclosure but will not impair motor operation; resistant to water jets from all directions.
• IP66: Fully dust-tight enclosure; withstands powerful high-pressure water jets (12.5 mm nozzle) from any direction without damage.

IC411 Cooling Principle

Frame surface cooling: Heat generated inside the motor transfers through the stator core and thermally conductive components to the ribbed motor frame surface, then dissipates to surrounding ambient air. Self-circulation cooling: Cooling airflow is driven by the motor rotor. The fan assembly is mounted on the main motor rotor and rotates synchronously with the motor shaft.

4. Packaging

Export standard seaworthy packaging: plywood case or fumigated wooden case, suitable for long-distance sea and land transportation.

5. Warranty Period

Standard warranty: 12 months from commissioning date or 18 months after shipment, whichever comes first. Extended warranty service is available upon request, please contact us for details.
