1. Overview of AXR Rib Cooled Motors

AXR series rib cooled motors represent the latest generation of multi-purpose rib cooled electric motors. Boasting high power density, flexible configuration and convenient maintenance, this product is built on decades of motor manufacturing expertise.

The series sets new industry benchmarks, delivering superior power-to-weight ratio compared to conventional rib cooled motors. Thanks to high power density, users can often select one smaller frame size for the same power output, which saves installation space and supports more compact system layout.

AXR motors comply with mainstream industrial standards including API 541 and Shell DEP, as well as customized client specifications. Constructed with heavy-duty cast iron frame, AXR motors adopt rib cooling design. IC411 cooling system and IP55 protection are supplied as standard options, while IC416 cooling and IP66 protection are available as optional upgrades. The IP66 rating has been certified by an independent authoritative testing institute.

The AXR motor range covers rated power up to 1800kW with shaft heights from 315mm to 500mm. Both horizontal and vertical mounting are supported. This catalog provides technical parameters under 50Hz and 60Hz conditions, with synchronous speed ranging from 500 rpm to 3600 rpm.

2. Mounting Arrangements

• IM B3 (IM 1001): Standard floor mounting, horizontal foot mounted with feet downward.
• IM V1 (IM 4011): Flange mounting, vertical solid shaft, flange and free shaft end pointing downward.
• IM B35 (IM 2001): Foot & flange combined horizontal mounting, flange integrated to end shield, single cylindrical shaft extension with feet downward.

3. Enclosure and Cooling Introduction

IC411 / IP55

AXR motors with IC411 cooling are fitted with externally shaft-driven fan, utilizing ambient air for heat dissipation. IP55 enclosure protects the motor against dust ingress and water jets from all directions.

IC416 / IP55

IC416 cooling version uses an auxiliary motor to drive cooling fan. It is specially designed for low-speed working conditions, especially for variable speed drive applications.

IP55 Protection

• Dust protection: Limited dust may enter the enclosure, but the dust volume will not interfere with normal motor operation.
• Water protection: No damage to the motor when exposed to water jets from any direction.

IP66 Protection

• Dust protection: Fully dust-tight enclosure.
• Water protection: Resists powerful water jets (12.5 mm nozzle) from all directions without harmful impact.

IC411 Cooling Principle

Frame surface cooling: Internal coolant circulates inside the motor in closed loop. Heat transfers through stator core and conductive components to the motor outer ribbed surface, then dissipates to surrounding air. The ribbed surface enhances heat exchange. Self-circulation: Coolant circulation relies on motor rotation. The airflow is driven by rotor or rotor-mounted fan/pump, mechanically powered by main motor shaft.

4. Packaging

Export standard seaworthy packaging, plywood case or fumigated wooden case. Suitable for long-distance sea and land transportation.

5. Warranty Terms
