1. Product Overview

AMI series are modular induction motors featuring high reliability and operational stability, designed for harsh and demanding working conditions.

Customisable to satisfy individual customer and application requirements, these motors are built on a proven mature modular platform. They can fulfil diverse demanding operating conditions and support highly customised configurations.

All AMI modular induction motors conform to relevant international standards. They support both direct‑on‑line (DOL) start and variable speed drive (VSD) operation.

Adopting welded steel frame construction, the motors provide standard combinations of cooling modes and protection grades: IC01 / IP24W, IC611 / IP55 and IC81W / IP55. Standard shaft height ranges from 400 mm to 630 mm, with horizontal and vertical mounting options available.

The technical data shown in this catalogue is based on 50 Hz operation. Nevertheless, the motors can run at both 50 Hz and 60 Hz, delivering synchronous speeds from 500 rpm to 3600 rpm.

The power range covered by this catalogue reaches up to 8000 kW, while the full product portfolio extends to 23000 kW.

2. Mounting Arrangements

Below are standard mounting types for AMI motors. Other mounting forms can be provided upon customer request.

• IM B3 (IM 1001): Horizontal foot mounted
• IM V1 (IM 4011): Vertical flange mounted, free shaft end facing downwards

3. Enclosure and Cooling Solutions

IC01 / IP24

This weather‑proof motor is equipped with a shaft‑driven internal cooling fan. Its structural design prevents rain, snow and suspended particles from entering electrical components.

Air inlet velocity is controlled below 3 m/s so heavy particles settle down. The air inlet channel adopts more than three 90‑degree sharp turns to optimise airflow. The motor can resist splashing water from all directions.

IC611 / IP55

This fully enclosed motor is fitted with an air‑to‑air heat exchanger. Shaft‑driven fans are installed inside and outside the housing for internal and external cooling circuits respectively. It provides protection against dust and multi‑directional splashing water.

IC81W / IP55

A fully enclosed configuration equipped with air‑to‑water heat exchanger. One shaft‑mounted internal fan drives the inner cooling circuit. Dust‑proof and resistant to splashing water from all directions.

IC31 / IP55

This version comes with air inlet and outlet pipes for external remote cooling air supply. It adopts AMI motor housing without top cover, with dust protection and full‑direction splash‑water resistance.

IC01

IC01 version with asymmetric internal air circulation.

4. Packaging

Export‑grade standard seaworthy packing is adopted, including plywood case or fumigated wooden case. The packaging is suitable for long‑distance sea and land transportation.

5. Warranty Period

Standard warranty term is 12 months upon commissioning or 18 months after delivery, whichever occurs first. Extended warranty service is available. Please contact us for further information.
