Modular Induction Motors, Type AMI
AMI
engineered modular induction motors provide exceptional reliability and
availability in the toughest and most demanding applications.
Tailor-made to meet the specific needs of each customer, these motors
are built on the industry's most successful modular platform. They offer
the flexibility to be adapted to highly specific configurations while
matching a broad variety of demanding application requirements.
Complying with all relevant international standards, AMI modular
induction motors are available for both direct-on-line (DOL) and
variable speed drive (VSD) operation.
Featuring
a welded steel frame, these motors are available with shaft heights
ranging from 400 to 630 mm and can be mounted horizontally or
vertically. While standard technical data is often listed at 50 Hz,
these motors operate efficiently at both 50 Hz and 60 Hz, with
synchronous speeds ranging from 500 to 3600 rpm. Output powers covered
in this series reach up to 8,000 kW, with the complete range extending
up to 23,000 kW.
Mounting Arrangements
Standard mounting arrangements for AMI motors include:

Code I: IM B3 / Code II: IM 1001: Horizontal foot mounted.

Code I: IM V1 / Code II: IM 4011: Vertical flange mounted (free shaft end facing downwards).

Enclosure and Cooling Options
-
IC01 / IP24W: This weather-protected motor features a shaft-mounted cooling fan
inside the housing. The design reduces the ingress of rain, snow, and
airborne particles into the electrical parts. The air intake path
ensures an average velocity not exceeding 3 m/s, allowing heavier
particles to settle, and includes three acute direction changes in
excess of 90 degrees to optimize flow rate. The motor is protected
against splashing water from any direction.

IC611 / IP55: Features an air-to-air heat exchanger mounted on the fully enclosed
motor. Shaft-mounted fans are fitted both inside and outside the casing
to supply the respective cooling circuits, providing protection against
dust and splashing water from any direction.

IC81W / IP55: A fully enclosed motor fitted with an air-to-water heat exchanger. An
internal shaft-mounted fan supplies the internal cooling circuit,
offering complete protection against dust and splashing water.

IC31 / IP55: Fitted with inlet and outlet pipes for remote cooling air. This version
essentially consists of the AMI motor frame without an upper cover,
protected against dust and splashing water from any direction.

IC01 Asymmetric: Features IC01 cooling with asymmetric inside air circulation for specialized applications.
Packaging
Standard
seaworthy packaging for export, including plywood or wooden fumigation
packages, ensuring suitability for long-distance transportation by sea
or land.
Warranty Period
Standard
warranty is 12 months after commissioning or 18 months after delivery,
whichever comes first. Extended warranty periods are available upon
