Product Description

AXR series rib cooled motors represent the latest generation of multi-purpose rib cooled motors, featuring high power density, flexible configuration and convenient maintenance. They are built on decades of accumulated experience in electric motor manufacturing.

These motors set a new industry benchmark for rib cooled designs, delivering higher power output per kilogram than traditional rib cooled motors. Thanks to high power density, you can often select a motor with one smaller frame size for the same power requirement, saving installation space and enabling more compact system layout.

AXR motors conform to major industrial standards including API 541 and Shell DEP, and can also meet customized customer specifications. The motor adopts a robust cast iron frame. IC411 cooling and IP55 protection are supplied as standard options. IC416 cooling and optional IP66 protection are also available, and the IP66 rating has been verified by an authoritative independent testing institute.

AXR motors cover power output up to 1800kW with frame heights ranging from 315mm to 500mm. Both horizontal and vertical mounting are supported. This catalog provides technical data of AXR motors for 50Hz and 60Hz operation, with synchronous speed ranging from 500 rpm to 3600 rpm.

Mounting Arrangements

Standard mounting options for AXR motors:

• Code I: IM B3, Code II: IM 1001. Standard floor mounting, feet downward (horizontal foot-mounted type).
• Code I: IM V1, Code II: IM 4011. Flange-mounted with free shaft end downward (vertical solid shaft flange type).
• Code I: IM B35, Code II: IM 2001. Horizontal foot-and-flange mounting. The flange is integrated on the end shield, fitted with one cylindrical shaft extension and mounting feet downward.

Enclosure and Cooling System

Standard Combinations

IC411 / IP55 AXR motors with IC411 design adopt an externally shaft-driven fan, using ambient air for cooling. The enclosure protects the motor from dust ingress and water jets.

IC416 / IP55 The IC416 cooling version is equipped with an independent cooling fan driven by a separate motor. It delivers stable cooling airflow for low-speed applications, especially when the motor runs with variable speed drives.

Protection Ratings

• IP55: Dust protection: Limited dust may enter the enclosure but will not interfere with motor operation. Water protection: No harmful effect from water jets sprayed from any direction.
• IP66: Dust protection: Totally dust-tight enclosure. Water protection: Resists powerful water jets from any direction via a 12.5 mm nozzle, no damage occurs.

IC411 Cooling Principle

Frame surface cooling: Primary coolant circulates in a closed loop inside the motor. Heat is transferred through stator core and other conductive components to the motor outer ribbed surface, then dissipated to surrounding air. The frame surface can be plain or ribbed, and an outer shell can be added to improve heat dissipation.

Self-circulation: The cooling medium is driven by motor rotation. Power comes directly from the rotor, either by rotor movement, a dedicated rotor-mounted component, or fan/pump assembly mechanically coupled to the main motor rotor.

Packaging

Export standard seaworthy packing. Plywood case or fumigated wooden case is adopted, suitable for long-distance sea and land transportation.

Warranty
