What are the potential hazards of improper alignment adjustment for the ZL130-22.4-III soft tooth surface reducer shaft

1、 The lifespan of core components drops sharply

1. Early scrapping of bearings: The additional radial/axial loads generated by different shaft degrees will cause the actual load of the bearing to far exceed the design value. According to the bearing life formula, when the load increases by 50%, the life is only 29.6% of the original design. The normal 10-year life will be shortened to 2-3 years, and in severe cases, after hundreds of hours of operation, the raceway will peel off, the cage will break, or even lock up.

2. Rapid damage to gears: Axis displacement disrupts the normal meshing of gear pairs, and the load is concentrated in a local area at the edge of the tooth surface. The contact stress suddenly increases from the design value of 1500-2000MPa to over 3000MPa. Soft tooth surfaces (hardness ≤ 350HBS) have weak resistance to eccentric loads, and plastic deformation and indentation of the tooth surface will occur in the short term, accelerating the wear rate by 2-3 times, followed by rapid development into pitting and tooth breakage.

2、 Overall deterioration of operational stability

1. Excessive vibration noise: Eccentric rotation generates periodic centrifugal force proportional to the square of the rotational speed, with an overall amplitude exceeding 0.15mm. In severe cases, resonance can be triggered, leading to loosening of foundation bolts and fracture of couplings. At the same time, gear impact meshing will increase the noise by 10-15 dB (A), and long-term exceeding the standard will also mask early fault noise and delay the timing of troubleshooting.

2. Significant decrease in transmission efficiency: Unbalanced load increases the sliding friction coefficient of gears from normal 0.005 to 0.05-0.1, increases the bearing friction torque by 50-80%, and reduces the overall transmission efficiency from the design value of 95% to below 85%. The motor current increases abnormally, resulting in a significant increase in energy consumption.

3、 Secondary faults and chain risks

1. Lubrication and seal failure: The eccentric motion of the shaft damages the integrity of the lubricating oil film, and local dry friction causes the temperature to exceed 120 ℃, accelerating the carbonization failure of the lubricating oil. At the same time, uneven wear between the shaft and the oil seal lip quickly leads to oil leakage, and the loss of lubricating oil further exacerbates bearing oil deficiency sintering, forming a vicious cycle of "wear heat more severe wear".

2. Chain type equipment damage: Metal debris generated by initial bearing wear entering the meshing area can accelerate gear damage and even affect the motor rotor, forming a domino effect of "bearing breakage → gear tooth punching → shell rupture". In severe cases, the entire machine can be scrapped, and the repair cost can reach 30% -50% of the new machine price.
