1. AXR Series Rib-Cooled Motors

The AXR series represents the latest generation of versatile rib-cooled motors with high power density, flexible configuration and convenient maintenance. It inherits decades of experience in electric motor manufacturing.

As an industry benchmark, these rib-cooled motors deliver outstanding power-to-weight performance. Thanks to high power density, users can often select a motor with one smaller frame size for the same output compared with conventional motors. This feature saves installation space and enables more compact system layout.

AXR motors comply with major industrial standards including API 541 and Shell DEP, as well as customized client specifications. The motor adopts a robust cast iron frame. IC411 cooling and IP55 protection are supplied as standard options, while IC416 cooling and IP66 protection can be selected on request. The IP66 protection rating has been verified by an authoritative independent testing institute.

The AXR series covers power output up to 1800kW with frame sizes ranging from 315 mm to 500 mm. Both horizontal and vertical mounting types are supported. This catalog provides technical data at 50Hz and 60Hz, for synchronous speeds from 500 rpm to 3600 rpm.

2. Mounting Arrangements

• IM B3 (IM 1001): Standard floor mounting, horizontal foot-mounted design with feet facing downward.
• IM V1 (IM 4011): Flange mounting, vertical installation with flange and free shaft end facing downward, solid shaft.
• IM B35 (IM 2001): Combined foot-and-flange horizontal mounting, flange integrated on end shield, single cylindrical shaft extension with feet downward.

3. Enclosure & Cooling System

IC411 / IP55

The AXR motor is fitted with a shaft-mounted external fan, utilizing ambient air for heat dissipation. It is resistant to dust ingress and water jets from all directions.

IC416 / IP55

IC416 cooling configuration is optional. A separate auxiliary motor drives the cooling fan to guarantee sufficient cooling for low-speed working conditions, especially for variable speed drive applications.

Protection Grade

• IP55: Dust may enter the enclosure in small quantities but will not impair motor operation; protected against water jets from any direction.
• IP66: Fully dust-tight enclosure; resistant to powerful water jets from any direction via a 12.5 mm nozzle.

IC411 Cooling Principle

Frame surface cooling: Coolant circulates in a closed loop inside the motor. Heat is transferred through stator core and conductive components to the motor outer ribbed surface, then dissipated to ambient air. The ribbed surface improves heat exchange efficiency. Self-circulation: Coolant circulation is driven by motor rotation, powered by rotor, built-in fan or pump mechanically coupled to the main motor shaft.

4. Packaging

Export-standard seaworthy packing, available in plywood case or fumigated wooden case. Suitable for long-distance sea and land transportation.

5. Warranty

Standard warranty: 12 months from commissioning date, or 18 months after delivery, whichever comes first. Extended warranty is available upon request. Please contact us for further information.
