1. Product Overview

The HXR 560 is a rib-cooled induction motor built on a rugged cast-iron frame, engineered for heavy-duty cement plant and industrial applications. Operating as a totally enclosed, fan-cooled (TEFC) machine, it comes standard with IC411 cooling and IP55 ingress protection, and can be upgraded to IC416 cooling and IP66 protection on request.

Delivering up to 2,250 kW across a shaft height of 560 mm, the motor supports both horizontal and vertical installation. While this catalog lists technical data at 50 Hz, the HXR series runs equally well at 60 Hz, achieving synchronous speeds from 500 to 3,600 rpm.

2. Mounting Arrangements

3. Enclosure and Cooling Options

IC411 / IP55 (Standard) — A shaft-mounted external fan draws ambient air across the ribbed frame for cooling. The motor is protected against dust ingress and water jets from any direction.

IC416 / IP55 — Adds an independent cooling fan drive, ensuring adequate ventilation for low-speed operation and variable-speed-drive (VFD) applications where self-ventilation would otherwise be insufficient.

Protection Ratings

IP55 — Limited dust entry that cannot interfere with normal operation; water jets from any direction cause no harmful effect.
IP66 — Fully dust-tight enclosure; resistant to powerful water jets (12.5 mm nozzle) from any direction.

Cooling Principle (IC411) — Heat generated in the windings and core is transferred through the ribbed frame surface to the surrounding air. The primary coolant circulates in a closed internal circuit, while the frame's ribs—with or without an outer shroud—maximize heat dissipation. Coolant movement relies on the main rotor's rotation, either directly or via a fan mechanically coupled to the rotor shaft.

4. Packaging

Motors are supplied in standard export-grade packaging: plywood crates or fumigated wooden cases, engineered for long-distance sea and land transport.

5. Warranty
