1. Product Description

The HXR 560 is a heavy-duty rib-cooled induction motor engineered around a rugged cast-iron frame that stands up to demanding industrial service. Built as a totally enclosed, fan-cooled (TEFC) machine, it ships with IC411 cooling and an IP55 protection rating as standard, with the option to upgrade to IC416 cooling and IP66 enclosure protection for more severe environments.

Delivering up to 2,250 kW of output, the HXR 560 is offered with a 560 mm shaft height and can be configured for either horizontal or vertical installation. While this catalog presents technical data at 50 Hz, the motor runs reliably at both 50 Hz and 60 Hz, achieving synchronous speeds from 500 to 3,600 rpm to suit a wide range of applications.

3. Enclosure and Cooling

IC411 / IP55 (Standard) — An externally shaft-mounted fan draws ambient air over the finned frame to dissipate heat. The enclosure is protected against dust ingress and water jets, with a cooling circuit shown in the accompanying diagram.

IC416 / IP55 (Optional) — A separate motor drives the cooling fan, delivering the forced cooling required for low-speed operation, particularly when the motor is powered by a variable speed drive.

Protection Ratings

IP55: Some dust may enter but not in sufficient quantity to interfere with operation; water sprayed from any direction causes no harmful effect.
IP66: Fully dust-tight enclosure; powerful water jets (12.5 mm nozzle) from any direction cause no harmful effect.

Cooling Principle (IC411) — The primary coolant circulates in a closed circuit inside the motor, transferring heat through the external ribbed surface (along with the stator core and other heat-conducting parts) to the surrounding medium. Coolant movement is driven by the motor's own rotation — either by the rotor action alone, a purpose-designed component mounted directly on the rotor, or a fan/pump unit mechanically coupled to the main motor.

4. Packaging

Each motor is supplied in standard export seaworthy packaging — either plywood or fumigated wooden crates — designed to withstand long-distance transport by sea and land.

5. Warranty
