1. Product Overview – HXR 560 Rib Cooled Motors

HXR series rib cooled motors adopt heavy-duty cast iron frames, designed as totally enclosed fan cooled units. IC411 cooling system and IP55 protection grade are supplied as standard configurations, while IC416 cooling and IP66 protection can be selected as optional upgrades.

This HXR motor series reaches a maximum output power of 2,250 kW with 560 shaft height. It supports both horizontal and vertical installation modes. The technical data shown in this catalog is based on 50Hz operation only. Nevertheless, these motors can run under 50Hz and 60Hz power supply, with synchronous speed ranging from 500 rpm to 3600 rpm.

2. Mounting Arrangements

Standard mounting configurations for HXR motors

• IM B3 (Code I: IM1001) Horizontal foot-mounted type with feet downward for floor installation.
• IM V1 (Code I: IM3011) Vertical flange mounted type, flange and free shaft end face downwards, solid vertical shaft.

3. Enclosure and Cooling Systems

Standard Configuration: IC411 + IP55

HXR motors are fitted with an externally shaft-driven fan, drawing ambient air for heat dissipation. The enclosure protects the motor from dust ingress and water jets. Working principle can be found in diagram 27.

Optional Configuration: IC416 + IP55

IC416 cooling version is available for HXR motors. A separate auxiliary motor drives the cooling fan to deliver sufficient cooling airflow for low-speed applications, especially for motors operated with variable speed drives.

Protection Grade Explanation

IP55

• Dust protection: Limited dust ingress permitted; dust accumulation will not disrupt motor operation.
• Water jet protection: No damage when exposed to water jets from any direction.

IP66

• Dust protection: Fully dust-tight enclosure, zero dust penetration.
• Water jet protection: Resists powerful high-pressure water jets (12.5 mm nozzle) from all directions without damage.

IC411 Cooling Principle

• Frame surface cooling: Internal coolant circulates in a closed loop inside the motor. Heat transfers through stator core and conductive components to the ribbed motor housing, then dissipates to surrounding ambient air. Ribbed surface optimizes heat exchange performance.
• Self-circulation cooling: Coolant circulation relies on main motor rotation. It is driven by rotor assembly or shaft-mounted fan/pump directly coupled to the motor rotor.

4. Packaging

Standard seaworthy export packaging. Options include plywood cases or fumigated wooden crates. Suitable for long-distance sea and land transportation.

5. Warranty Terms
