Mounting Arrangements

Standard mounting configurations for AXR motors:

IM B3 (IM 1001) — Standard floor mounting, feet facing downwards (horizontal, foot-mounted).
IM V1 (IM 4011) — Flange and free shaft end facing downwards (vertical solid shaft, flange-mounted).
IM B35 (IM 2001) — Foot-and-flange-mounted horizontal, with the flange on the end-shield, one cylindrical shaft extension, and feet facing downwards.

Enclosure and Cooling

Standard Combinations

IC411 / IP55 — Fitted with an external shaft-mounted fan that draws surrounding air for cooling. The motor is protected against dust ingress and water jets.
IC416 / IP55 — Available with IC416 cooling, using a separately driven cooling fan. Ideal for low-speed applications, particularly when the motor is supplied by a variable speed drive (VSD).

Protection Ratings

IP55 — Dust-protected (limited dust ingress that does not interfere with operation); protected against water jets projected from any direction.
IP66 — Dust-tight enclosure; protected against powerful water jets (12.5 mm nozzle) from any direction.

Cooling Principle (IC411)

The frame surface is cooled: the primary coolant circulates in a closed circuit inside the motor, transferring heat through the external surface (in addition to heat transfer via the stator core and other conducting parts) to the surrounding medium as the final coolant. The surface may be plain or ribbed, with or without an outer shell for improved heat transfer. In self-ventilated (self-circulation) mode, coolant movement depends on the rotor speed of the main motor, either through the action of the rotor alone, a component mounted directly on the rotor, or a fan/pump unit driven mechanically by the main motor.
